Authorization Steps

  1. 1Go to Dashboard → Integrations → Teams and select "Connect to Teams" under Public Client
  2. 2Sign in with your Microsoft 365 work or school account
  3. 3Review the permissions on the Microsoft consent screen and select Accept
  4. 4You return to SimuLive and your Microsoft account shows Active
If Microsoft shows an approval required message, your organization needs an administrator to approve SimuLive once. After approval, repeat the steps.

Run Teams Meetings and Webinars

Teams Meetings

  • Start automatically at the scheduled time
  • SimuLive joins with your first and last name, or Host when no name is set
  • Your video plays from the beginning and scheduled messages appear in the chat
  • With SimuHost on, attendees ask with /ask or your @handle and get replies in the chat

Teams Webinars

  1. 1At the start time, open the email Action Required: Start your Teams webinar and select Open Webinar in Teams
  2. 2In Teams, select Start meeting
  3. 3Open People, find the SimuLive participant, select the three dots, and choose Bring on screen
Microsoft does not let apps start a Teams webinar or bring a participant on screen, so these two steps are yours. If Bring on screen is not shown, open Meeting options, Engagement, turn off Manage what attendees see, then make the SimuLive participant a presenter.

Troubleshooting

Teams account not available when creating a runbook

Go to Dashboard, then Integrations, then Teams and check that your Microsoft account shows Active. If it does not, select Connect to Teams again, or sign in with Teams from the sign in page.

Approval required message from Microsoft

Your organization requires an administrator to approve apps. Ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to approve SimuLive once, then connect again.

Webinar does not show the video to attendees

Teams webinars need two manual steps: select Start meeting, then Bring on screen on the SimuLive participant. SimuLive emails these steps for every webinar run.

Chat messages not appearing

Verify you have a Platinum or Diamond subscription. Check that your messages.xlsx file uses the correct MM:SS format.

Live stream not starting

Verify you have Gold or above. Check stream key (min 10 chars) and RTMP URL. Start the Source Encoder first when the runbook is Running, then start destinations.

Insufficient credits

Go to Dashboard, then Subscription to purchase additional credits or reduce the event duration.

Need help? Visit simulive.us/support or email support@simulive.us. Platinum and Diamond subscribers receive priority support.
